CovID

This project stems from the desire to identify the human being through a collection of objects. The result is a time capsule that can transmit and bring back our identity when this box will be found by our posterity. The collection of objects is based on the historical period in which we currently live: the era of Corona virus.

There are 11 items in total: hand sanitizer, acool 90, medical gloves,  face masks, covid certificate, covid test, vaccine, thermometer,  computer, telephone and webcam. To accompany the objects, a folder  containing photographs representing each item. On the back side of the  photos a brief explanation of its common use in normal times and in  the present day.

The project name “covID” indicates the word identity with the final  capital letters (ID).

This collection was carried out at the height of the pandemic period. The photographs, prints and the making of the capsule itself, were done through the use of material I could find at home or in the nearest convenience store, following the rules of the restrictions in force at the time. This is why every imperfection mark testifies to the craftsmanship with which this time capsule was manufactured. The design, on the other hand, was very conscious of detail, trying to make the prints and descriptions of each object as comprehensible as  possible, as if they were their  identification cards.
